I. In order to be allowed to sit for the Master's Final State Exam (AJ69999), a student who is completing their studies in a major (diploma) subject must fulfil the following requirements at the Department of English and American Studies:
a. Successfully complete the following compulsory courses (39 credits) with an exam: AJ69010, AJ69011, AJ69012, AJ69013, AJ69039, AJ69056, AJ69043, AJ69022, CJBB119
b. Successfully pass the Exam in English Language (AJ21110 + AJ21120) in the course of their studies or provide one of the following:
- i. The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, or
- ii. The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with grade of 8 or higher, or
- iii. The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a score of 600 points or more in the paper-based test or 250 points or more in the computer-based test, or
- iv. Score at least 75 points on the English Proficiency Examination of the BA Final State Exam at the Department of English and American Studies, FF MU and pass the English Language Oral Proficiency Exam (AJ11020) with the mark A, B or C.
c. Acquire 11 credits from other courses in the Department of English and American Studies beginning with the codes AJ6…, AJ22… or AJ290…
d. Pass the Master's Thesis Seminars I and II (AJ69800 and AJ69801) - 20 credits
e. Write and defend a Master's Major (Diploma) Thesis (AJ69850)
The process of writing an M.A. Diploma Thesis usually lasts at least three semesters: during the first semester, students prepare for writing by submitting assignments in the electronic Thesis Seminar I (AJ69800), during the second semester, they write the thesis and complete Thesis Seminar II (AJ69801), and in the third semester, they finish and submit the thesis.
II. In order to be allowed to sit for the Master's Final State Exam (AJ69999), a student finishing their studies in a minor (non-diploma) subject has to fulfil the following requirements at the Department of English and American Studies:
a. Successfully complete the following courses (39 credits) with an exam: AJ69010, AJ69011, AJ69012, AJ69013, AJ69039, AJ69056, AJ69043, AJ69022, CJBB119
b. Successfully pass the Exam in English Language (AJ21110 + AJ21120) in the course of their studies or provide one of the following:
- i. The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, or
