The Department of English and American Studies offers only one study programme in the Bachelor's degree programme. This programme is offered in two accreditations - in Czech (Anglický jazyk a literatura) and in English (English Language and Literature). The programme accredited in Czech is intended mainly for students whose competence in Czech or Slovak is close to their mother tongue (the entrance exam includes a Test of Academic Prerequisites, which is conducted in only Czech, and the programme also includes a compulsory course Introduction to Translation, which requires a high level of Czech or Slovak). Applicants, mostly international students, who do not have this language level, should apply to the programme accredited in English.

Within the Czech-accredited programme, it is possible to choose between three study plans (single-subject, major and minor), within the English-accredited programme there is only one study plan (single-subject).
