CEA Study Abroad online courses

25 May 2020

CEA Study Abroad welcomes North American students across the world at our Program Centers, for university programs that range from 4 weeks to 9 months long. Students come to our sites to take courses in a wide variety of university disciplines such as local language and civilization courses, political science, art & art history, engineering, and communications, to name a few. With the exception of language courses, our courses are taught in English at our CEA Study Centers.

Starting in July 2020, we will be offering distance learning courses through our CEA Virtual Center. These courses will enroll mainly American students looking for online university courses in their fields of study.

As part of this program, we have developed a study grant to give local students here in the Czech Republic an opportunity to study with our students this year. Selected candidates will have tuition-free access to one of our online courses, giving them the opportunity to take a course in English with a group of anglophone students, and to interact socially and academically with American university students.

Again, access to one of our courses is being proposed free of any fees, but only a limited number of applicants will be accepted. The only fees that local students will be responsible for would be acquiring books or supplies needed to follow the course, and having adequate computer equipment and internet access to meet the program’s requirements.

Students who are selected to participate will benefit from an environment and platform to put into practice their skills in English and to bring a new perspective to their education. By completing a course at the CEA Virtual Center, your students will earn university credit recognized by all North American institutions of higher education, which would be undeniably advantageous for any student preparing to enroll in university studies in North America, and a solid addition to their applications for any international education opportunity they might apply for in the future.

We are proposing this grant also for our American students’ benefit. We are seeking to create an environment where students can exchange and collaborate academically and intellectually (and socially) with students of their generation from around the world. Your students’ presence will also provide a rich opportunity for professors to integrate different perspectives from different countries and cultures during class discussions, group work and course activities. The courses are entirely online, with interactive sessions and activities built into the curriculum.

Attached you will find the informational flyer for our Virtual Cultural Exchange Grant program. Students can apply directly on our website, or by filling in the application form I am also sharing with you here.
