The Monograph

In 1992, Cambridge University Press published Jan Firbas’s monograph titled Functional Sentence Perspective in Written and Spoken Communication, in which he presents a comprehensive account of his approach to the information structure of language. To this day, this monograph remains one of the best descriptions of the FSP theory and immediately since its publication it has attained the status of a classic for many functional linguists. The number of reviews the monograph has attracted only further cements its status in linguistics.
