(This is how it all began:)

Welcome

We’re very pleased to have lured ESSE for the first time to the Czech Republic.

Masaryk University is located in Brno,  the country’s “second city”. Though its population of  400,000 makes it large enough to offer all the amenities of a metropolis, it still maintains a human scale, with a vibrant and architecturally rich historical centre and a thriving cultural scene. The 85,000 students at the city’s six universities set the tone:  their presence is at the heart of the recent emergence of Brno as one of the most dynamic cities in the Central European region, a rapidly growing R & D and IT centre with a burgeoning international community.

As “Central Europe’s most central city”, Brno is easily accessible. The combination of what is shaping up to be an exciting programme, the cultural richness of the city and region, and traditional Moravian hospitality promise a memorable ESSE 2018.  We’re very much looking forward to welcoming you next year in Brno!
