Book launch of the new translation of Marlowe's Edward II

On November 22nd, Filip Krajník’s new translation of Christopher Marlowe’s scandalous play Edward II was launched in the reading room of the Faculty of Arts’ library. After last year’s Hamlet, Marlowe’s Edward II is the second volume of a series of new editions of English Renaissance plays in Czech that will be prepared at our department under the supervision of our PhD student Anna Hrdinová. The presentation of the new volume was aptly accompanied by English Renaissance songs performed by our choir The Gypsywood Singers. At the end of the event, immersive stage reading from the play took place in which both the translator, faculty members and volunteers from the audience together read out some of the most iconic moments of the text, including the horrible death of King Edward! You can buy the volume with 10 % discount at the university e-shop.
