Recognition of Cambridge ESOL exams

The certificate must be submitted before the test. It cannot be submitted after an unsuccessful attempt (Assesment "FU" or "FFU" is, therefore, not possible).

Cambridge ESOL Exams

• CAE - Certificate in Advanced English
  The A or B grades are recognized by the KAA as: 
  AJL11010/AJL11020/AJ41010/AJ41021 Practical English Exam (for 4th semester of BA studies):
  - The A or B grades will be recognized (final grade "U")
• CPE - Certificate in Proficency in English
   All grades are recognized by the KAA as:
  AJ(L)19999/AJ49999 Practical English - part of Bachelor's State Exam:
• Certificate must be submitted at least one month before the State Exam!!! 
  - A: 85 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)
  - B: 80 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)
  - C: 74,9 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)
  AJL(A)21110/AJL(A)21120/AJL51000 a AJL51110 AJL51110 Practical English Exam (for 2nd semester of MA studies):
  - The A or B grades will be recognized (final grade "U")

Recognition of  IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam - Only "Academic" version!!!

Grade 7 or more will be recognized as:
AJL11010/AJL11020/AJ41010/AJ41021 Practical English Exam (for students in their 2nd year of BA studies):
- Grade 7 or more will be recognized (final grade "U")

Grade 7.5 or more will be recognized as:
AJ(L)19999/AJ49999 Státní zkouška (Část praktického jazyka)
Certificate must be submitted at least one month before the State Exam!!!
- Grade 8.5: 85 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)
- Grade 8: 80 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)
- Grade 7.5: 74,9 points (partial evaluation of a Bachelor State Exam)

Grade 8 or more will be recognized as:

AJL(A)21110/AJL(A)21120/AJL51000 a AJL51110 Practical English Exam (for students in their 1st or 2nd year of MA studies):
- Grade 8 or more will be recognized (final grade "U")

Recognition based on previous exams at the DEAS

AJL21110 - 75 or more points in English proficiency exam as a part of the BA exam at the Department of English and American Studies
AJL21120 - pass English Language Oral Proficiency Exam (AJ11020) with the mark A, B or C

Notice:

• Practical English courses (AJL01001/AJL01002/AJ41001-6) could NOT be recognized based on any certificate
• Students wishing to have one of the certificates recognized can either do so by applying for a standard course recognition, or enroll in the course and submit a certificate to the study advisor at KAA before the end of the semester.
